Hockey is over but we are Still Busy!

On Saturday, Taylor had a track meet and he ran the mile and 1/2 mile and did well.  I am proud of him for doing those long runs - he has a great attitude.  Spencer had a scrimmage baseball game and his last basketball game.  I didn't have the camera - I will get some baseball shots soon.  They don't have their uniforms yet anyway.  I will wait for him to have his uniform to take pictures.  Spencer's team won their last basketball game and he got a goal.    Tommy had a baseball scrimmage game but his baskketball game got canceled.   On Sunday we didn't have any sports so my mom and I went to check out the beach.  Here is a shot of Taylor - I forgot to mention that he tried to the Shot Put and Discus at the track meet.

Hockey Season is Over....[sigh}

The boys teams did not make it to the finals that will be held next weekend in Dallas.  Spencer's team lost the first 3 games and then won their last one on Sunday [against a team they had never beat} so that was good for them.  Taylor's team had some heartbreakers.  They won the first game  and then the 2nd game was lost in OT after they were leading by two goals.  The 3rd game they lost to the other Hitmen team by on goal that was scored during the last seconds of the game.  Then the 4th game was lost after OT and then a 5 round shoot-out.  So, all the loses were at the end of the game and only by one point.  Tommy's team had a playoff game on Saturday and they lost to the Hounds.  So, hockey is over for now.  All the boys had fun and made some new friends. On Saturday, we have the last basketball games and then on to baseball....

Another weekend of Sports

The Kids all had sports in Houston this weekend, Spencer had hockey practice and a Basketball game {lost} and Tommy had a basketball game {lost} on Saturday too and he had a baseball practice Sunday and a hockey game later that day {won & he got an assist}.  Taylor's hockey team played two scrimmages vs the San Antonio Thunder here in Houston.   They won the first game 8-3 and then we ate breakfast all together and played the second game- it was a tie and we had extra time after the game and they had a shoot out-all the kids got to shoot.  Taylor made his-he shot from far back and it went in ( that is a defense-men shot).  Taylor and Spencer and I went to the Rockets game yesterday.   It was kids day- and Clutch had his 14th birthday.  The Rockets won by 21 points vs the Bobcats.   It was a fun weekend.  Now- we have the playoffs coming up-we will see what happens.  All teams have a chance to make it to the Championship games.  Basketball is almost over as is hockey and Tommy and Spencer are starting Baseball and Taylor is going to run track.  Why is this underlining?   

Two Wins ~ Five Losses

Taylor's team played the other Hitmen PeeWee A team and they won 7-2, it was 5-0 at the beginning of the 3rd.  It was sort of nice to have a big lead and win while we are not bitting our fingernails off.  This was the last game of the season and Taylor's team came in 2nd place and the playoffs start soon.  Taylor and his team mates played great today- after having the flu going around the team.  The doctor said Taylor had the B strain.  We had both going around.

Spencer's team played in a tournament and they lost 3 games and then won the last game today.

Tommy's basketball team lost 22-16 to Regis and his hockey team lost 7-3 to the Hounds.

Last weekend Spencer had 3 games against San Antonio at their rink and they lost all three games but I heard they played well.  SA is the first place team and very good-{they should be an A team  not a B team}.  Tom went with him to SA and then drove back on Sunday and took Tommy to his Hockey game -he played goalie.  They lost too- oh well.  They both had basketball games Saturday morning-they were both good games, but they lost.  It just wasn't a winning weekend.  Spencer's team only lost by one point.  My mom and I went with Taylor to Dallas for his games and we got into a bad traffic jam in Conroe.  We were stuck there an hour.  I Had to drive 85-90 to get there in time.  Thank you.  Lord for getting us there safe and with out any visits with any nice Officers.

They won their first game 6-5 and then on Sunday they had two scrimmages, they lost to a AA team 3-0 and then won against the Penguins 5-2.

It is the first week of February ~Basketball & Hockey

Last weekend in Hockey, Spencer's team had four games in Dallas and they won 2 and lost 2.  He got two assist and a 10 minute penalty for a small "fight" he thinks this is great-he was taking up for a team mate.  It was at the last 15 seconds of the game, so he didn't have to sit there for 10 minutes.  Tommy' s team lost it first basket ball game- I went and took some pictures.  Then he had a hockey game on Sunday and they lost to Mite Hitmen.  Taylor's team only had practice on Saturday and Sunday and a couple of boys spent the night on Saturday from the team.  Taylor's team did have a game last night and they won 4-2 against the other Hitmen PW-A team.  It was a good game, both teams played hard.

Spencer and Tommy are playing basketball now, they have had 3 games and I haven't been to one yet because of Taylor's hockey team.  We have had games the past 3 weekends, (I'm the team manager so I go with his team.)  I am going tomorrow to see some basketball and I will try to get some pictures of Tommy's game.  A Dad on Spencer's team always takes photos.  These are some that were emailed to me.  Spencer's team is 1-1-1 and Tommy's team is undefeated 3-0!

All the Christmas Decorations are put away...

Well, we have had a busy month since my last post.  Dec 20 & 21st we were in Dallas for Hockey and we saw our cousins and Aunt Jackie.  We had a great Christmas, the day after we got in the Hummer and went up the Gulf Coast to  New Orleans, Biloxi, Destin, Saniabel Island and back to Pensacola and then back to Houston.  Florida really has nice beaches with lots of wonderful shells.

January 10 & 11th back to Dallas for hockey (Taylor's team)  and then we went to Chicago for a tournament on Jan. 16th.  Taylor's team got second place.  A team from Canada won first place.  The team did great, they had a come back win where the scored 3 goals in 1.40 at the end of the game.  Taylor got the goal that tied the game.  That game got them into the championship game and then they lost 4-6 to the London Thunder from Ontario after a hard fight.

This past weekend was the Hitmen's host weekend and 3 teams traveled here to play us and each other.  It turned out not to be the greatest weekend for our team, we lost the first game, then lost in OT and then won 3-0 for a final game on Sunday.  We decided we need more practice and I am trying to find the team some ice times.

Spencer's team has been practicing for some up coming games and he had baseball try outs this past weekend.

Tommy and Spencer are both playing basketball and they are doing great.  

Tommy is trudging on in hockey, it is fun to watch all those little guys, they had  a tough loss yesterday after they were winning 2-0 after the first period.

All the Christmas stuff was put away and we are waiting for Spring.

To get up to date...

During the 2007-08 school year, the boys played soccer (Tommy and Spencer) Taylor played football at school and they all played hockey. Tommy wasn't on a team; just taking lessons. Taylor played PW for the Hitmen travel team and Spencer was on two teams -the house team in Sugar Land and tournament team. Then Tommy and Spencer played basketball for St Cecilia church league-while doing hockey (hockey last over 8 months). Now, Spencer and Tommy are playing baseball and a spring/summer hockey league and Taylor is running track, playing soccer with some friends at the Y and he is on a youth spring/summer league hockey team.
