Hockey is over for . . .

the season is over for Tommy and Spencer.  Tommy' s team lost at Space City on Saturday night.
They lost 3-1 (it was 1-1 most of the game)  - they got two quick goals at the end.   Tommy had a great break away with the puck (short handed) and he shot it high - it hit the top cross bar of the net and fell right behind the goalie - in the crease.  I was hoping the goalie would knock it in - but two players got it out.
Spencer's team went to Dallas and did really well - they won three games and lost one - they really just needed to tie the game they lost and they would have went on to the next round.  None of the teams went undefeated - one had 3 wins and an OTL - they played really well.

Taylor has 4 games  this weekend.

I love my bed. . .

I really  ♥ love ♥   to lay in my bed ~  it is so comfortable and soft  - {but sometimes it has one or two boys in it and a big dog}    But, that is okay!   ~    Yesterday Tommy came home sick and we took a long nap.  He is home again today,  so maybe we will take a long nap today too  : )

I forgot to do our "GoodBye" summer photo ~

The last week of summer last year we were at the Beach at Port Aransas - this year we were in cold Northern California with jackets on, so I didn't take a goodbye summer photo like I did last year.  I need to remember to do this next year:

Tommy's 9th Birthday:

Yesterday was Tommy's birthday and he had practice from 8-9 and then played in two hockey games - his brothers each had a game too, so we went to 4 hockey games.  I got yellow cup cakes for the Lemon Head hockey team, but I forgot to take a picture of them.  They were good with lots of yellow butter cream frosting and I added Lemon-Head candy to the top of each one.   It was father's day too - we went out to eat with the entire family after all the games.  Grandma, Papa. Uncle Daniel, Philip and Alex and all of us - we went to BJ's in Sugar Land,  I love their Avocado rolls.

This score has been around us a lot in Hockey lately;  first Spencer's playoff game was 2-1 in the last minute of the game [they were losing] -  they pulled the goalie and lost 1-3{empty netter}, then the big game after Spencer's game was the USA vs Canada- and in the last minute it was 2-1, but the US tied it and then lost in over time.  Tommy's playoff game on Saturday night was 2-1 {but they Won} and so they went to the Championship game last night and they lost - you guessed it; 2 -1.  They fought a valiant fight, but couldn't get that last, tying goal in.  It was a great game.

Tommy had a roller hockey game early that morning, they won and he scored one, he had his last basketball game- he got a free throw.  They lost all their games but they had fun {and they had a party and got trophies}

Spencer had his last basketball game too - he lost too - 

See this big girl next to him?   This team had all different ages and sizes & they had boys and girls.

Taylor had a roller hockey {RH} game - they were losing 4-0 and they came back and won the game, Taylor had an assist.  Spencer lost his game but he scored a goal.  Not bad for their first time to play RH!

"Those Kids were Good"

Last Saturday Tommy played in his "Church League Basketball Game" {should be low key -  not super competitive} Kids play in Spring Branch Sports for that - well - these 2nd graders were big and they played really good.  If they were in 2nd grade - our boys looked like Kindergartners!  I think the score of the game ended up being 30 something to 3 {Tommy made one basket and another boy got one free throw}  - it was a learning experience for our boys.

A Trick {not a hat trick|

I didn't take any hockey photos this weekend, but here is picture of Tommy with a spoon on his nose {His TRICK of the weekend} at the Willowbrook rink - his game was just over and Spencer was getting ready for his and so Tommy had hot chocolate.   Tommy's game was a 2-2 tie{he didn't score} and Spencer lost 4-6, but it was a good game.  He didn't score either but he played good - the whole team played good.  It was a fun game to watch, they were down 3-0 and then 4-1 and still played hard.   Taylor went to Dallas for his last 4 games and lost them all {sad face}  - his season has a been "a learning experience" that is what we say when we are on a team that mostly loses.  The kids are good sports and they have fun.  Spencer had a basketball game and at one point it was tied 8-8 but they lost 10-15.   The picture is of Spencer taking some free shots.  He got one and one basket (3 points)  - 

Three and half hours of Freezing at the Ice Rink...

Tommy had practice at the old Sharpstown Rink and so we went to Stick & Puck the hour before.  Spencer skated the entire time and got a good workout - Tommy kept getting off and eating oranges and getting a drink.  Then he had team photos and an almost 2 hour practice.  I was freezing when we finally left the rink.
On Saturday Spencer had a basketball game (lost 17-7) Tommy had a hockey game (won 6-2 and he scored on goal) and on Sunday Tommy had a game early that morning ( they tied 2-2) and Taylor had a game in College Station vs the first place ISHL team and they lost 5-1.   I heard that most of the game was 1-1 but in the 3rd the other team started scoring.  Spencer has a game tonight vs the other Htmen team - so he will playing against his friends.
