The season is coming to an end. . . only 5 more games for Taylor & 4 more for Spencer - and then they have to get ready for the playoffs!

I am still going through our holiday & trip to Colorado photos ~ I will post more soon.

Taylor's hockey team won 3-1 over their friends and rivals - it was a great game:

Taylor and his first "high school" homecoming dance & date!

The dance was right after the hockey game - so he had to shower and change in the locker-room,  I picked up the jacket and tie that was too small for him - he is such a trooper, he didn't complain.  I heard a couple friends crack a joke.  He has a great personality (most of the time)  ~ for a teenager!

Hockey, Hockey, Soccer and more Hockey. . .

This past weekend all 3 boys had hockey games, Spencer had a scrimmage and I got a text from a parent on the other team on how well Spencer did {he was bombed with shot after shot} - the other team is undefeated and very good - so it was good practice for him.  {they lost 10-3, but the game was longer than a real game}  Tommy had a game at Space City - he lost 10 -1 - don't know what happened there.  Dad said Tommy played good.  I went to Austin with Taylor's team - they played 3 games.  They lost the first game 5-4 {they should have won, the team had trouble getting it together} ~  the next game they won 4-1 but it was 1-0 (they were losing the first two periods)  so in the 3rd they finally scored 4 goals.  The last game on Sunday morning, they won 6-0 and John had a hat trick and our goalie had a shut out.  So, I think for the start of season, it turned out well.  Soccer??  - only Spencer had a soccer game and they tied 1-1.

Taylor started high school today - yesterday he went to put his books in his locker {he had never used a combination lock, so he had to practice a bunch}  I hope he got it open today.  I went in with him yesterday and we checked on his locker and walked to all his classes.  Today - he went a half day and they gave them a class of 2014 t-shirt.  I think so the seniors know who the freshman are.   Here is his picture eating breakfast:

I am cleaning up Taylor 's room and taking out the stuffed animals and the stuff to make it a "high School Boy's" room.  I think I will get this photo printed on Canvas for his room above his bed.

Late to School because of the Train. . .

Taylor is going to summer school and there is a train track crossing on the way to school.  More than once, a train crossing the road has made me late picking him up and has made Taylor,  almost  late for school.  It seems most of the train tracks have been moved out of town and they do not cross major intersections, but this one near downtown is a busy train route.  I am not used to being stopped by trains when driving around Houston.  When school starts in August, we will have to make sure we leave early each day - just incase we get stopped by the train.

The After Party (the party/dance for the kids May 21, 2010)

The parents got together and had a party for the 8th graders at the Beck's Prime at Memorial Park - it was great for the adults and kids and a lot of fun.  We had a DJ and a movie with old photos of the kids.
