Three Boys, A Dog, Lots of Sports - and School?
A photo journal of the crazy madness of doing way too much ~
Taylor's hockey team is tied for first place - (8 - 1) ~ they have won all their games except for the very first game!! ~ they play the team they are tied with on Sunday (it is another Houston Wild Team) - update on that next week ~ Spencer's Team is on down ward slide - but I hope they can turn it around soon. They have lost every game but their first game. It seem in competitive youth hockey - one year you do well and then the next year the team can't win a game - but they are getting better because they are playing in a competitive league. So good luck Spencer's team the rest of the season (three boys quit the team!) Spencer is a goalie - but I wish they would let him skate out sometimes - he can skate fast and would be good for the defense - but the coach likes having two goalies ready to play. Tommy's house team has not won a game yet either - they have tied and they have lost - but they are getting better each week. Tommy made it on a select team that will play 12 games and it has kids that can skate better and faster than some of the beginners. It is fun to watch them - they lost their first game 2-3. He plays again on Sunday. On to Soccer - Spencer's team went undefeated this season - 6-0-3 (3 ties) ~ but no loses.
The coach let them dump a cooler of water on his heads at the last game. Tommy's team lost or tied all their games but the last one ~ the won 2 - 0. It was great ~ he got to play goalie for a bit. In 3rd grade is when they move up to the "big" field and it is a lot of running. Soccer is over - now on to Church league Basketball after the holidays and the 2nd half of the Hockey season.
Check out my boys:
That totaled 3 ties, 4 loses, and 3 wins. Taylor's hockey team won all three games in Dallas over the weekend. They are working hard and playing like a team. They seem to be becoming good friends.
Tommy and Spencer both tied in Soccer (Spencer's team still hasn't lost - knock on wood!) Tommy tied his hockey game on Saturday night. Now the loses . . . Spencer's team lost all three games over the weekend, I think if they keep working, they will get some wins going. Tommy played at the Toyota Center on Sunday and his team lost to another Willowbrook team. Everyone had fun though and got a lot of healthy exercise and team experience. I think that helps them get along with others and solve problems. They will use that when the are adults.
Yesterday went great, Spencer had hockey practice early and then rested at home a bit and then we went to his soccer game. It was a great game, It was tied a lot of the time. Thomas on his team scored two times and the game was tied two -two and close to the end Spencer scored and made it three -two and Wyatt made a great save at the end of the game as goalie and the team won their first game. Tommy's game was next, they played hard but lost two-one. Tommy scored the one goal. Earlier in the season he as scoring 3 goals a game, he has only got one the last two games. They have been playing late in the day when it is hot, I think they like the morning better. After that game Tom rushed Tommy to Clear Lake to play hockey, they lost that game too. Tom said he had a couple break a ways-he is starting to get it! (playing Hockey). He is excited, he gets to be the goalie next week for the hockey team. He brought all the goalie stuff home. I will get his picture tomorrow at practice. We don't have sports today, I can't believe it. Taylor and I are actually going to church.

Well in September, the boys started playing Hockey again. Taylor played a tournament in Dallas over Labor Day weekend in Dallas. They got 2nd place. Then I went to a meeting in Dallas to schedule the team's games for the season. The next weekend, we had
IKE. We didn't Likey Ikey! We were out of power for about 9 days. I took the kids and the dog to San Antonio and then to outside Kerrville to my brother-in-law's ranch. We had a fun time. But in October everything is back to normal. Taylor's team has been to Austin two times and played here in Houston and they are 6-0-1 (the lost in a shoot-out to the other Hitmen PW team.) Spencer's team has been to Dallas and has had their host weekend, They are 3-4. They have a tough team from San Antonio that is hard to beat. Maybe as the season goes on they will do better. Tommy plays for the house team in Sugar Land as a mite. Taylor was playing football for his school and that just ended and Spencer and Tommy both play soccer, the games are on Saturday.
